problems with .something.something

I just noticed that my themes when uploaded are mutated some horrible way. If I had for example, ClearPlastic-Blue-2.0.0.tar.bz2, the upload script slaughters it to ClearPlastic-Blue-2-0-0.bz2

Why does it kill .tar? Why does it get rid of the other "."? Could you fix this so it doesn't do this, or at least doesn't remove the .tar? The wa it does it now actually messes up the way the archive is read, it has to have .tar in front.

When the code was written to handle submissions AGES ago, we didn't anticipate files with multiple part extensions.

A fix is in the works.
