I would like to kno why tha fuck doeznt this site give any instructions on how to place skins ? Not every1 is a computer genius, I tried put one of these XP Visual Style things as my theme and it did nothing. Why can't y0u people offer more help and put sumwhere on tha page y0u download them from HOW TO DOWNLOAD THEM!? Fuck. Waste of fucking space on my computer now. Thanks alot.
Be sure to get the right skin for the right application. If you want skins for Style XP, check out the "XP VisualStyles" Section under Shell Themes. When you have StyleXP open, under the VisualStyles section click the "Add New Style" find the ZIP file you downloaded and StyleXP will add it automatically. But if its a RAR file, just extract it to a folder and the do the same thing with StyleXP, but look for the .MSStyles file
you need to have either style xp installed on your computer or have the uxtheme patch. when you download the xp visual style theme from custo, you need to put it into the "themes" folder and then apply it either using the style xp interface, or by right clicking your desktop, going to the "themes" tab, clicking on the drop down menu, then navigating to where you saved the theme.
0k forget it. This site is so fucking unhelpful, y0u'd think it would offer more support with tha things it carrys. Thanks anyways people that tried to help.
Hmm. When I saw this thread title I had a feeling someone below the age of 15 had posted it. Cursing doesn't make you cool dude and read the instructions next time it would save us a world of trouble.
why can't you learn how to do things yourself instead of getting pissed off like a big baby at everyone on this site? The people who run this site do not have an obligaiton to hold your hand and teach how to apply skins. I had to learn myself, and I know many others who had to learn by themselves too.
Just because you lack the patience/fortitude/skills/etc. to learn by yourself doesn't mean you can talk like a dick.
Anyway, I hope you realize how your initial post demonstrated your immaturity and how your subsequent ones erased any doubt.
www.redf.net has a uxthemepatcher for pre or post service pack 1. It may not work for you, but everytime I've tried it, I've had no problems. www.tgtsoft.com has a program called stylexp as well that handles visual styles much easier than a uxthemepatcher would but requires that you have a program running in the background at all times, and it is also shareware.
As for the visual styles, you download them, then you need to put them in a subfolder of a themes folder which can be found generally here: C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\
then you right click your desktop, go to properties, click the appearance tab, and in the windows and buttons drop down menu should be some new visual styles. If this doesn't work, It's not our fault. We tried to help, and we don't like to be chastized for helping someone out.
