Her work always impresses me, and I think the whole landscape of custo would be very different if she submitted works more frequently. The other entries are fierce competition. While many of them are good in the technical aspect of their composition, there are only a couple entries that really evoke a feeling for the creator's mind and how it works.
It's like a home-cooked meal from scratch, versus a gourmet dish in a lavish restaurant: The restaurant's dish may be exquisite, but it's by no means unique. It's served many times a day, following the same recipie each time. The home-cooked meal, while it may not have the flare of the restaurant dish, is unique. It's sampled by the cook during creation, and the ingredients are constantly adjusted in one way or another, bringing the final dish together with a sense of completeness. The recipe isn't written on paper, but in the soul of the cook. And as moods vary from day-to-day, so does the flavor of the dish, but it's always a masterpiece that should be enjoyed to the fullest, because it will never be exactly the same again.
... such is Anetalaya's work: created with feeling, if it was made a different day, it would still be perfect, but it would "taste" different

sticboy's organic pack (more specifically the blue variant) is by far the best here.
also want to give a thumbs up to SteV's wall. not very usable if youre wanting to create a desktop theme around it, but its quite sexy and the colors go well together.
I want to vote for I {hearth} summer (c72cntst) ish by Anetalaya. Her wonder and skillfull strenght for colors and her own style make everything that leaves her hands her work.
I appreciate every hint, answer and help from her as an experienced artist who is serious about his work. I press both thumbs for you Anetalya!
Wow. People have truly stepped up their game for this contest, and in record time, to boot.
My vote, however, goes to "ALMOST THERE", by VictorC.
It has a magical, surreal quality that sets it apart from the others. It's a classic theme - the desert, wanderers facing a vast expanse of sand and shimmering heat. The traveller and his/her mount look almost Asian. Perhaps the scene depicts one of the landscapes along the ancient Silk Road during high summer. The image, apart from being well executed (excellent details on the sun - damn unique), also fires the imagiation. This piece is one of the "Best of Customize.org." It will be remembered.
My vote goes to Stic's incredible Organic Pack. And not just because he's paying me to say it, but because it truly is the best. Once again, not being paid. *cough* *cough*.......
If I had to use one of these walls, I would use one of sticboys, but I am going to vote on overall quality of artwork. My vote is for VictorC's Almost There.

I have to go with Imrik's C72 CNTST I like whody's orbital too but It hasn't got the summer feeling. I like the minimalism and the colors in Imrik's piece.
Imrik's "C72 CNTST" wall takes the cake. Phunked would have gotten my vote if not for the crazy remixes he had in his package. Imrik's colours are a nice touch, though it feels more like fall in his wall.
I am liking the style he uses... two thumbs up! He does good work most of the time, hehehe! lol Phunked as corelaresp said would be a close 2nd, but I think sticboy's paper is abit better!

Because Sticboy did the only wallpaper in black and white with the summer feel to it. And it's really clean and minimal, the shadow gives it a really nice effect as well.
Ahh! so hard to choose. I'm going to have to go with Imrik. He scored the highest in these categories themeable, usable, creative, and unique. I wasn't going to vote at all because everyone did such a wonderful job. seriously colossus72 should be giving all of you $50 bucks!
C72 CNTST by Imrik. why? because this wallpaper represents the summer season in a way that i never thought a wallpaper could, just look at the gradient: it just the colors of a summer sunset, you can see the stars in the day just like you do in the summer. everything says summer to me in this wallpaper, those clouds near the bottom -or are they leaves- and the flower rising to the top -or is that a bug?- no matter how i look at it, it represents a season like a wallpaper never has and this is why it gets my vote.
`Irish Spring by Max...I like the one called "fertilized" very much because the green and white make an awesome contrast and the wall is clean and fresh and bright and awakens you the way only sun shining on your face at 12 in the morning can. i love sleeping in.
I was going to give my vote to ORBITAL by Whody ...but your only allowed to vote for one so sorry bud. his wall has nothign we havent seen before, but the circles and gradients seemed very peaceful to me and matched my mood very well. neways......
reminds me of summer in san diego, where everything is surfing and boardshorts. my second choice would be irish spring by max, i really like fertilized but it's not quite as "summer" to me.
"Organic Wallpack" by Sticboy Ther'es something for everyone there and they work so well with so many different themes. I would have went with Imrik's C72 CNTST, but spiders really creep me out. Some people it's snakes, with me it's spiders. But man that gradient is to die for :)
