I'm having an argument with my partner, we're about to kick off out graphics design comany and everything except the name is set... so what do you ppl think?
Think about that... you would have to say Sacrocant Conceptions everytime you represent your team or introduce yourself. Avant is short, precise, easy to remember :)

don't rush it, i'm sure there's someone you can talk to or somewhere you can read up on naming a business. once its fixed, its set in concrete with no easy redo. good luck Lithanor (and both names need revision).
I wouldn't choose either one, but Avant is the one to go with if you're going to twist my arm about it.
Sacrosanct (especially your trendy spelling of it) SCREAMS pretention and is incredibly inappropriate for a design company, lest you'd like to become one of the "other" 5000 design companies that litter the cyberscape with trendy, but ugly, mock sci-fi names. We already have such percious monikers as "shadowness.com", or "Breed" - an acceptable name, but ruined completely by art pack names like *ahem* . . . . . . "ameliorated." That's right, pick any verb in the past tense from the dictionary and BOOM: instant bullshit.
Avant is nice, simple, tasteful, and easy on the tongue. Short, sweet, and VERY classy. It's been used elsewhere, but originality isn't always preferable. Originality should seem natural, not forced. Stick with Avant.
Avant most certainly, its simple, easily pronounced, and has an international appeal. Its french meaning suggests progress. I think that mucking it up with something like "concepts" would make it seem trendwhore-ish. Good luck.
IMHO, it sounds stilted and pretentious. A specific word, with a very specific meaning has been used as a label for an "art pack." It's an attempt at style - something which should never be attempted, but achieved through talent. It's ugly. It belongs to its own specific context, either verbal or written. As a label for an art pack it is ineffective on so many levels. Art is not "ameliorated."
It sounds odd and contrived because "ameliorated" is given an abstract meaning. Words CAN have abstract meanings. "Ameliorated" is not one of them. Doesn't work. Sure, people are free to do whatever they like with words. People are also free to wear red socks with purple jeans and claim that Elvis lives inside their bean-burrito that's shaped liked Jesus' head. Is it unique? Yes. Entertaining? You bet! Stupid? Definitely.
sorry but it's back to the drawing board on those names. Avant sounds like it belongs on cheap small car (i'm off to buy new Hyundai Avant) and Sacrocanct Conceptions... too much of a wank IMHO

Well, I must say DAMN! thanks for the help, outstanding amount of replies. Our company is going for a more "white, gold, black" theme to it so we wanted a name that was appropriate for it~~ u know~ holy, OMG sorta stuff~~~ I'm not going to hit the name down straight away but can anyone think of a sick name that will not be "trendy-tabby-bitched?"
In fact, use nihonTiger (tiger of Japan, etc.), and for your logo, you can use a white tiger stripe, black tiger stripe, and gold tiger stripe. To me, it's a winner.
