I was wondering if anybody else had the same problem as me after they installed XP SP2.
After both of the times I installed it (I did it via the Windows Update site and the manual installation), whenever I right clicked on a file in explorer, explorer.exe would throw a memory error ("cannot read memory from #whatever to #00000000, the memory could not be 'read'"). Everytime. Which would cause explorer to restart, and i still wouldn't be able to right click. But uninstalling sp2 fixed it. I was just wondering if anybody else encountered the same thing.

I didn't, but I use Litestep, so, since I got rid of explorer.exe, I'm quiet. But yesterday I used explorer as a shell for the whole day, with explorer, and it was perfect. Anyway, would the security center be the problem? I saw it make my firewall crash, and when disabling it, it was perfect, maybe a problem with memory address?
So far everyone I've heard of trying to move to SP2 by means of Windows Update has had some problem or another.
I've installed XP with SP2 Integrated from CD and it functions absolutely flawlessly. And on 3 machines that are configured completely differently as well.
So I think ppl should steer clear of the Windows Update SP2 patch - but then, I'm probably one of the few ppl who has access to a final-build slipstreamed XP SP2 installation CD...
yeah, i think it's just on this computer because i installed sp2 on my laptop and it seems fine so far. It's not security center for sure, it's an explorer.exe problem, but i guess i'll just wait and try it later.
anyone have problems with the latest version of Zonealarm. I see several versions having problems on M$ website, but not mine. But of course i don't think that means much - version 5.1.001
