Latest version (1.02) was released in December of 2002.
This is hardly worth noting. I'm sure there are PLENTY of better 3D accelerated visualization plug-ins now available that take advantage of newer, more complex rendering capabilities of today's hardware.
Also, considering it's from the author from the original Giess and Milkdrop plugins, and it IS his latest, your comments pretty much make you look a complete noob.
Now let's see the PLENTY of better 3d visualizations you supposedly know exist.
and while I'm at it, I may as well add I only linked this because he had not subbed it here, even though his previous viz are. Why? We can only guess. Might have something to do with multitudes of self righteous dickheads that like to talk smack.
colossus, take a quick gander at my profile if you would. You'll notice that I am quite the furthest thing from a noob you'll find on this site (at least aside from yourself and a few others). I was here at custo even before changemusic had it's fun... and also before the nightmare-ish gllen bug. Please don't insult someone who doesn't deserve it. I am no noob.
I was merely pointing out that something from two years ago kinda doesn't need to be mentioned, especially considering Ryan Geiss' latest work is actually MilkDrop, released nearly a year after Monkey 1.02, on November 29, 2003.
I find it funny that you're calling me a noob, even though my profile states 'Reactivated: Sept. 2nd 2001' and yours states 'Join Date: Oct. 6th 2001'
Hm... *scratches chin* If my memory serves me correctly, September comes before October, so really, it would make more sense for me to be calling you the noob, even though I know damnwell better than that.
Exactly why did you have to take such tones towards me? I don't think my first comment was really all that bad, and you're right, I'm not aware of many 3D visualizations mainly because I don't see the point in them (music is meant to be heard, not seen). Regardless, you had no right to bite my head off about it, just because you're Staff doesn't mean your words take precedence over anyone elses.
Oh yes, one other thing: I'm not self-righteous. According to the people I know and converse with, I'm no dickhead (in fact many say I'm quite down-to-earth). And I don't talk smack. I know you made a blatant generalization there with what you said, but I know you directed it towards me. Yet another thing you've said in my direction that I didn't really deserve.
'So, where are the links to the better 3d viz, or were you, you know, talking out of your ass?'
If you'd read what I posted above, you'd know why I haven't posted any links.
heylove: it would be nice, wouldn't it?
As someone who was quick to rip apart everything I said at first, he doesn't even have the decency to read what I posted last. He even admits to that himself. " I'm not going to read all that "
No, of course he won't. He'll still assume that he's right though... "but most people will understand my point."
I couldn't care less if he reads it or not, it makes little difference to me. I only ask one thing: If you're going to argue with someone, be fair about it and read what they have to say before assuming anything.
btw, I'm done with this. I have no interest in arguing with you colossus. I'm only here to enjoy other people's artwork, not to wage a war against you, or anyone else.
12 ounces bacon, diced 4 medium white mushrooms, chopped 1 small onion, finely chopped 1 1/2 pound extra lean ground beef 1 egg 1/4 cup evaporated milk or half and half 6 ounces shredded Swiss cheese 1/2 cup corn flake crumbs
Preheat oven to 350. In a large skillet, cook bacon until crisp but not burned. Remove with a slotted spoon to paper towels to drain and cool. Remove all but a tablespoon of the bacon fat from the skillet and saute the mushrooms and onions until tender. Allow to cool slightly. In a large bowl, mix the beef, egg, and milk.
Add the mushroom/onion mixture, all but a few spoonfuls of the Swiss cheese and all but one tablespoons of the bacon bits. Add the corn flake crumbs and mix well until blended. Shape into a loaf and place in a large loaf pan. Bake at 350 for about an hour, or until cooked through. Drain fat from the pan and sprinkle the reserved cheese and bacon on top. Bake an additional 5 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly. Allow to rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

"How are you gentlemen? All your base are belong to us"
cool plugin for any audio player try out R4 ( sorry you'll have to google it I dont have a link- lazy ) bit of a ram hungry monster but if you have the ram to burn and like what you see then it is ok.
Works by sensing the output from the soundcard so this plug in works with foobar, itunes, cdplayer, kjofol even worked with serious sam ( in window mode ).
burstnibbler (mike)! took awhile for an answer thanks, this app is awesome (would love to reap the source for it). you've made some pretty cool subs as i noticed aswell, hail litestep.
Basically, when someone posts something that they considered it good, dont post saying it's shit. Try constructive criticism backed out by "links". That's all i got to say about this.
Anybody who claims there are more advanced plugins than Geiss' work is incorrect, and doesn't have a good understanding of the technology involved in rendering visualizations.
Belle: never said that it did... was just noting it, as it was funny he was calling me a n00b, when it's plainly obvious I am not. As one avenue of proving a point, it was the simplest.
BlackLotus: I don't recall calling it shit. In fact my comment was intended more as a passive one. Never meant to sound 'condescending 'as colossus put it.
I'm sorry this thread had to become what it did. Now someone lock this bitch already.
It was out of character, blame it on jet lag. Calling him a noob the 2nd time was a bait and it was cheap. Once I saw he was looking to write small book on how cool and right he was I wanted to make sure he did so I could get under his skin by saying I did not bother to read his posts.
I stand by my statements but it should have been in private.
i got lazy after reading the the 8th post. Col, I got your back on this one. belle is a hotty. And you guys should solve this by a good "sword fight" if you catch my drift.
im out.
