what ever works for you sillaboy, open up Display Properties (from the Control Panel), flick over to the Desktop tab (1 across from Themes on XP), click on Customize Desktop... (three dots, bottom left corner), again flick over to the Web tab (the other tab), click on New... (three dots) and enter the url (remote or local), if the url is remote (on the web) you'll need to click Ok to make the file available offline, after it syncronises and you tick the correct box (is that the spelling, who cares you know what i mean), make sure the tab is now checked back in the Desktop Items window (after you clicked Customize Desktop...(a moment ago, remember) and finish you customizing pleasure by pressing the Ok button to confirm the addition of an Active Desktop environment and proceed to click Ok on the Display Properties window. Done, enjoy.
If you wanted to be a real smart cookie, find yourself a SWF decompiler and edit your own links to your desktop say one for your CD drive and the other for the Hide Inappropriate Content When Parents Enter The Room (makes alot of sense doesn't it).
