Whatever. Sox came back and kicked the Spankees ass then swept the Cardinals for the championship. I'm sorry but that's just fn amazing. Celebrate today, worry about everything else tomorrow.
hey flintsilver, talk about no franchise identity, the yankees are a bunch of mercenaries who couldn't get the job done. the only true yankees on that team are jeter, rivera, williams, and joe torrie.
I won't argue that there are now two teams within the Yankees. They need some chemistry (well, besides pitching).
That's not a franchise identity. New York's franchise identity has become that of a huge payroll team, plain and simple. Boston's identity was a perennial loser - "cursed." Now that that's gone, they'll be like an expansion team again.
Why are ALL Yankees fans arrogant and childish? Even though I'm a Red Sox fan I can still admit that the Yankees can kick ass. The Red Sox made amazing come backs this year. Seriously they came back from 3 games and beat the Yankees. Who does that? They can't be that bad. I'll worry about what's going to happen for next season, next season. For now I'm enjoying their accomplishment. Anyone going to the parade in Boston Saturday? I'll be there!
_______________ "To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." ---Theodore Roosevelt
Read this thread again before you go calling names. I didn't say Boston was bad or that they didn't deserve to win. I'm saying that this changes everything in Boston and that's beyond dispute.
But go ahead and get defensive and call me names if it makes you feel better.
Damn Must you burst my bubble? All I want to do is enjoy the moment. God only knows when it will happen again. If you don't want to enjoy the moment with me then just don't say anything. If your going to throw your opinions in that's fine but except me to respond. It's really not nesseccery to get all worked up. It's an opinion. Who the hell cares what I think anyway.
Sad thing is he was an excellent hitter before all of this. He's a lifetime near .300 hitter with good speed and good discipline. Even without the steroids he would've been hitting 35 HRs a year. But he dug his own grave, and now he'll be buried in it.
