I fear ive said too much LoL.... But lorazepam is an excellent alternative to alochol. They enduce the same effect as drinking without any of that nasty getting sick and fiding yourself head deep in a toilet ;)
If you're an alcoholic or extremely heavy drinker, drinking may be worse for you. I think assuming the degrees are the same (as in addicted smoker = habitual drinker) smoking is much worse.
One drink a day is supposed to improve your health, whereas there are no benefits from smoking.
You should refrase the question since neither of them are good for you. I think they're both just as bad. I perfer drinking over smoking. Smoking makes me want to eat then sleep. I'de do extacy before drinking and smoking or any other drug. That stuff is just unbelievable. I love everything about it. But Heylove's a straight edge now and doesn't do any of the above. Well I drink about 2 times a year but that's about it. I haven't done extacy in 3 years this month! Just because I like it doens't mean I'm stupid. Kids drugs are bad! Just say NO!
If you searched through the forums you'd see the many times people said they need an edit button. This forum is the only forum with out an edit button!

Stryder I'm not sure how you got that impression about my post... I was just mentioning the fact that there isn't enough anti-alcohol commercials, if any. Drinking is just as bad as smoking if you do it to much. People don't think about that as much as smoking though.
And I am amongst the people that wouldn't like some one because they smoke. It's a dirty habit, it gives you bad breath, stained teeth... and oh yeah kills your lungs and insides. You'll get cancer and die before your spouse. So I don't know how you're old fashioned because you think it's their own personal thing.
I myself would rather have a clean boyfriend/husband who won't die way before me because of cancer. Cancer already kills enough people, way smoke and LET cancer get you. I mean you're just asking for it then. So I guess I would have to say smoking is definitely worse because of that ascept of it.
Yes a non-smoker will probably want a non-smoker companion but i was talkin more along the line of just being friends. But I did however try to get him to quit. When I'm 30-40 I'd rather not visit him in the hospital because he has lung cancer. I guess it all depends on how good of friends you are. I mean have you seen those commercials where they say "If your friends in troble you'd help him right?"
I think that's a pretty good message to be sending out. If you care about your friend at least eventually you'd come to the thought of trying to get said friend to quit smoking/drinking/doing drugs would you? Maybe it's just me.

I don't think there's a network that would advertise anti alcohol. They'de lose a ton of money. If adverising cigarettes on tv where still legal I'm pretty sure there wouldn't be anti smoking commercials or not as many.
I'm a smoker and I know alot of people who aren't. They don't have a problem with me but I'm considerate. If it bothers them then I wont smoke. I can see not like someone in an intimate kind of way if they're a smoker and your not but not to like someone just because they smoke is immature and stupid. Isnt advertising cigarettes illegal not only on tv but magazines as well? Seems like i heard that from somewhere awhile back but cant remember. As for getting friends to stop smoking, well i suppose it would happen if i were a non-smoker but being as im not id give a shit. I'm not sure about magazines... a while back I saw advertisment about cigarettes in a magazine. But I don't know if that was before the ban of TV advertisments or not. It most likely was after though. Especially since it could have been an old magazine... I was in a dentists office when I saw it lol.
About friends and smoking, that is just because it is the hard headed way. Because if some one cared about another person you would think they would quit for them. Me and my friends tried to get my other friend to quit. But I guess it wasn't enough for three of his friends to want him to quit. He didn't start really trying until he got a girl friend that wanted him to quit. That's sort of understandable... but at the same time kind of rude to me and my other friends that wanted him to quit.

Cigarettes have nicotine and get you addicted. All they do is feed an addiction. They've got tar in them and stuff. Weed is not addictive. Not that it's as good as diet and exercise, but it's not really unhealthy either.

Like I said I was under the impression that weed was just as bad as cigarettes. But even though it doesn't have tar and stuff it's still unhealthy for you I would say. It still has smoke and bad stuff, just because it's "natural" doesn't mean it's healthy.
That was our argument in 10th grade. Weed is natural- an herb! If it comes from our loving mother earth, open your arms and embrace it. Mother earth will never forsake you man (or woman in this case). She just wants us to be happy and feel good.
Weed cant be addictive to the mentally weak person. One can become dependent on it...well dependent on the habit really. The routine of kickin back and havin a session, but your body doesnt actually become addicted. It is possible to go through withdrawl sypmtoms if havent toked in a couple days but its all mentally enduced. Kills brain cells sure...but if you dont have enough to spare you shouldnt be tokin in the first place. ie if your an idiot before you start smoking chances are your just going to double it, thrice it, quadruple it and so on the longer you do it. So please...if your intellectually challenged dont smoke weed :)

Tru, but everyone has their ways. Sometime i like to hang from the ceiling by my toes to give me that extra jump on the day, others sit down and brood over a hot cup 'o joe. I agree about the commercials for prescriptions. People end up taking pills when they don't need them because it's so generalized. However I'd like to say if I were bloated I would definitely know it lol. All though I don't there is prescription pills for bloating... just take midol, or better yet wait till it goes away.

A friend of mine has been living in a Monastery in Tibet for a year. As she came back and i visited her she said the discipline there was very strict.
It´s very interesting to follow this discussion. Great arguments... even the teachers are always saying we´re not able to argument.
When i pack out my experiences and memories i had with drugs all i want to say is stay away from the needle. You won´t find any peace in it. The confrontation with drugs during my childhood gave me enough to keep a distance. I used to smoke for years since i was 15, 16. But... since i turned 18 and now that i am 19 there are rare moments i take a glass and drink with my friends. Maybe on the birthdays.
Here in germany it´s frustrating for me to watch TV or go to the cinema. When you see the perfect trained boys and girls with a glass of wodka or martini dancing body on body at the beach there is no reason why you shouldn´t do that, too. Right? Everybody says WE HAVE TO LIFE CONSCIOSLY!
