more hl2 thoughts

those poisonous headcrab things, and the bouncing electric balls of doom, though they dont annoy me like they used to.

oh and manhacks while playing it through on hard, cos you just cant ignore them and they take you to pieces so quickly.

just finished playing through ravenholm. holy fucking shit man. intense.

I'm still working on plowing through this one, but it has been a rather enjoyable ride, thus far. It's definately shaping up to be one of the more memorable games in recent memory.

I must say, though: the rocket launcher is perhaps the most magnificent weapon I have ever used in a fps.

I must say I'm very impressed with HL2...it's sold exceptionally well - a lot better than I thought. The t-shirt from the collectors edition rocks as well. I'm so glad it was my work uniform for the launch day *grins*

that combine pulse rifle would be my weapon of choice if the clips were bigger and you could carry more ammo overall.

but seriously. antlion squads. best game ever.

The ending, and the last hour of hl2, are by far the best moments in any video game, ever.

God damn, my jaw was dropped for 60 + minutes.


In any event, it's easily the best fps ive ever played.

hl2 may be awesome, BUT STEAM SUCKS BALLS.

steam sucks it hard. hl2 does not. i didnt have any problems installing hl2 except with the wait i had to deal with. first take ages to install off of 5 cds, then wait for activation, then it unpacks crap, etc etc.

wonderfully devilicious game, though.

I'm strangely more attracted to NFS Underground 2 for some reason.

Hmm...never had any problems with steam...ever.

even at 2 am when hl2 was released...took 10 minutes and i was playing. O.o

Other than the 10 minute wait, there's never been anything wrong...and sure as hell beats going to a store at 2am. :) Plus we got Source early.

Lots of people with crap-ware have steam problems, but ive got explorer running at 8Mb of ram...so, that might have something to do with it.

I am crapware free, except for Steam and IE6.

tip:

you can pick up the friendly automatic turrets and run around with them. they never run out of ammo, tend to shoot exactly what you want, and even deflect a lot of damage.
