Hey, I'm suffering a bit of a mac emulation fetish (it's more of a see-how-close-I-can-get-it rather than an uber-desire to own a mac -- I much prefer having my hi-res Sony lappy setup and running whater UI I like) but I can't do without virtual desktops -- developing on unix at uni years ago was just too good.
So, is there a decent and free virtual desktop manager that doesn't require a total shell replacement (and isn't the crappy MS "powertoy")?
Or can I use litestep/blackbox (for the virtual desktop manager and popup) AND explorer?
Ideally I want my nice readymade VS taskbar but would also like a right-click desktop popup and a virtual desktop manager.
I don't *really* want to have to recreate a mac finder/taskbar with Litestep but if that's the best recommendation, so be it.
Any suggestions would be tops!

Using both Litestep and Explorer at the same time is a waste of memory, and kills off a significant chunk of Litestep's functionality (read: no popup!).
For a right-click menu, you could use a TClock2 and ShortPopUp combination, or you could try using Panekiller.
As for virtual desktops, check out Google with 'windows virtual desktop' as your query. You'll be surprised by the number of returns. A little work will weed out the non-freeware programs.
I'd suggest switching completely to Litestep, though that's a matter of personal preference.
Thanks, yeah I had googled it but was getting tired of wading through the non-freeware -- figured someone here would give the straight dope along with some insight.
I think I'll create a Litestep finda kinda bar.....
