Tell your mother for you're birthday you would love it, if she took that money, and used it either on herself... Or better yet, buy her and yourself dinner. Just the two of you, i'm sure she would like that.
" Everday is a good day Peter, with two scoops of raisins. "
today is my birthday at first i went to school for 8 hours, then to work for another 6 and when i get back home my parent will be sleeping and probably wont even remeber its was my birthday today.
well, as much as I would love to take her out for dinner, I'm in college in another state and am not physically able to do so. Also, seeing as I am in college, I have no extra money to spend. So 100$ for the price tag is my limit. I also don't really have space for a nice 7.1 system, although I would looove to have one. Also I don't have a sound card that supports it. So, here are the two requirements:
If you really wans speakers get a decent Altec Lansing 2.1 system. I have the older ATP3 and they work great. They are pretty loud and got great bass. The newer version is the VS4121, i think. And they should be under $100... or get a CreativeLabs i-Trique3200 that retail for $80. Either one would be sufficient enough for music and gaming.
Your price range puts JBL and Klipsch out of contention. Yamaha makes a very good 2.1 system - the Yamaha YST MS30 - for about $90.
And for the record - the listening proximity of a computer requires all of about 15 watts per channel. If you want to blast music, then 30 watts per channel would be sufficient. All of these high-wattage systems work out to between 40 and 60 watts per channel. Unless you're using your computer as a home theater (and on your budget, you aren't) then 2.0 or 2.1 sound is perfectly fine.
