technical_itch, stop fucking swearing in all your fucking posts and someone might start taking you fucking seriously ...

i've always wondered how can one "fuck up", shouln't you be saying "unfuck down"?

perhaps, just perhaps technical_itch you might find another more "appropriate" synonym to end your sentences as you might be aware "fuck" commonly refers to "bang, batter, beef, bumble, blow off the loose corns, bounce the brillo, dance the buttock jig, do a dive in the dark, flimp, flurgle, foin, foraminate, futz, get one's leather stretched, get one's nuts cracked, get one's oil changed, go bird's nesting, go bush-ranging, go like a rat up a rhododendron, go star-gazing on one's back, have a bun in the oven, have a game in the cock-loft, have a leap up the ladder, have hot pudding for supper, hide the ferret, hide the salami, hide the sausage, hive it, jazz it, knock it off, lay some pipe, light the lamp, lose the lamp and pocket the stake, make her grunt, mix one's peanut butter, palliardize, pestle, pheeze, pizzle, play cars and garages, plow, plug, plook, ram, rasp, ride below the crupper, shoot between wind and water, strop one's beak, varnish one's cane, wet one's wick, wind the clock, and work the hairy oracle", this and more on this topic can be researched at http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a2_268b.html

... now that i've finished pissing myself, i will now answer your "fucken" (Middle English, to strike, move quickly, penetrate) thread ...

"how about no scotty"

... have you ever once actually considered that racism, hate and predudice might actually be tolerated in this perfect model society ...

Considering the subject matter, I think this was an entirely acceptable use of English -- it's exactly what I thought when I listened to the song.

And listen to Jin's brilliant response:

qwertz... what are you angry about?

That song is extremely offensive and should have never been created to begin with, and definately should have never been aired on the radio. Anyone involved with creating or putting it on the air needs to lose their job. Its insensitive, racisit and just cruel.

frosty, the fact it was done SIMILAR TO a publicity stunt, it was done to PISS YOU (the listener) and incite enquiry into their station, i expect ratings for the stations may have gone DOWN but listeners to the station have gone UP in the hundreds if not thousands, thats a radio stations dream come true (more advertising, wider audience, more money! thats why that aired crew are still on the radiowaves today and will continue to hog the waves for many days to come (i hope i don't come to regret those words).

qwertz: does that make what they did ok? does that make it right? Absolutely not.

My question is: Why are you angry at technical itch?

It's interesting to me that you people only react when fun is picked of a major tradgedy. There are so many songs that make fun of so many races, so many horrible act's, and depict so much voilence, sex, and plain out gore. Why is this the one thing that catches everybodies eye? This is supposed to be a country founded on freedom of speech. I think that huge argument at the begining is a good enough disclaimer that the content may be offensive, but I guess for everyone else who spills hot coffee in their lap, they could have ran an official one. I'm not defending making humor out of so many people dying, but I wonder why it's okay to laugh when we someone get hurt on t.v.? America is a nation of Christian double standards and medeocritical bull, and I for one just need to find out why people look at so many things in so many different lights? Why are there so many shades of red in the red light district these days? Where is the line between funny, edgy, and deplorably offensive? The simple fact is, the constitution says you can say what ever you want as long as it's true, about anyone or anything. Those people loosing their jobs spits right on that. I'm sure people will disagree with me fully, but there, I said it.

distortion311, you didn't listen to the clip.

You'll also want to note that while we do enjoy freedom of speech, there are also consequences for those words.

Sometimes, I need to think before I type.

You did, in fact, listen to the clip. My bad.

I'm not sure what you meant by bringing in hot coffee, but small situations like that one can be humorous because we can relate to it.

Not all people laugh when they see other people get hurt on T.V., but for shows like Jackass, the point is to laugh at people getting injured. It's funny because they know what they're getting into, and they're actually enjoying getting injured. When news comes up about train wrecks or rockslides that kill people, people don't usually laugh.

They're different situations.

I listened to it, it's extremely racist and offensive. It pissed me off, i don't know how anyone in their right mind would think that it's perfectly alright to make fun of nations of people who's just lost everything to their name due to natural disaster.

If that was you, and you were one of the unfortunates in Tsunami who lost all their family, friends, and property, would you still think that it's funny? And how would you feel if you found out that some asshole, who instead of extending a helping hand, has made a song about you, pretty much saying 'tough shit loser, you suck...' ? Yeah, I'll bet you'll still find this funny.

We do have freedom of speech, however there are limits to what you can say in public or on public tv or public radio. Just because we have freedom of speech doesnt mean we can walk up and down the street saying insensitive racial slurs.

You need to further educate yourself on freedom of speech. It does not mean you can say whatever you want whenever you want.

AND regardless if the radio station employees are legally aloud to say what they want, it doesnt mean that they should have said any of the things they said. They deserve to be fired.

For one, Advent, I DID listen to the clip. For another, I never said I agreed with what they were doing. The pure and simple fact is, they did this for publicity, and they got it. I am more than aware of how freedom of speech works. There are principles and regulations to be followed in any media. Even here. But the thing is, what they said did not physically hurt or indanger anyone. Nor did it state anything that was untrue, nor damaging to any individual or group. My point is, I can say "I hate the french" [just an example, france is cool] and even though that would piss off any french person who cared, I am allowed to say it. But I cannot state a fact like "The French are statistically stupider than the rest of the world" in a medium where my word is expected to be true. Such as if it were printed in a news paper. But an article entitled "I hate the French" with a full explination of my opinion would be acceptable. It is not constitutional to print lies, Libel, Or to speak Lies, slander, if they are relavent to a person or persons, (or perspective place of buisness I.E. "K-mart charges more for CD Player Cassette adapters than Wal-Mart because they're evil") What those radio announcers did was aweful, it was distasteful, and OF COURSE it was insensative. My problem is, this country was founded on freedom. There is supposed to be a certain value of protection for art work which falls into the category of 'satire'. Has anyone ever heard the parody of 'Valice Na Ve dad" entitled "Police Knock me down"? It is what I would consider horribly offensive to the Mexican inhabitants of our country. Yet nobody got fired for airing it on the radio. It hate to break it to you all, But I will guarantee that ALOT of people laughed when they heard that on the radio. And automatically you think to yourself "They're just sick." But you don't consider their perspective. They understand the horror of the event, but also understand that it's over now. Nothing can be done to repair the damage that was done. You can only rebuild and renew the things that were, and the wreckage that still is. It may surprise you people to know that some people in this world know how to "lighten up", or, "Take a joke" without their panties getting in such a gigantic wad that they can't even walk. To some people there is a difference between [art] and [real-life] They know that [art] isn't real, but that it does sometimes imitate, and even (god forbid) make fun of it. Now for the last time, I'm not suggesting that the song those people created wasn't aweful, or that it should be allowed to air on the radio, but I don't think you should attack them for making it. Usually, to protect themselves, most medias will use a Disclaimer to acknowledge the fact that the [following] may be offensive to some viewers, and that they appologize for anyone who is upset by it's contents. In my opinion, the only thing those people did that was [legally] wrong, was not provide one of those disclaimers. However, I'm done with this topic. If I can't make anyone realize what I'm talking about, then I will just leave you with a warning... Becareful what you say. Becareful who or what you talk about, what you say about them or it, and don't make fun of anything, because in todays world, offending someone could mean loosing everything...I hate to be a Dick, but guys named richard might not like that reference...
