Hi : I have avg antivirus 7 version and i download its update file, now plz tell me how can i update avg with this downloaded file. coz avg asking that there is no virus dir so its disabled.

Can you not place the pattern file you downloaded into the appropriate location? {I've never used Avg, but I did use a program that required you to do that}

ashfaq, open the avg control center. under the professional licence with standard mode (view) select the "check for updates" button along the left column. you now have the choice of allowing avg to initiate and install its own updates by its own accord (by pressing down on the "internet" button) or manually selecting the downloaded update file and confirming the update (by pressing down on the "folder" button).
i recommend using the "internet" method as it does all the hard work for you, if you require any further settings check out the Update Manager module in the Control Center window.
