litestep isnt a windows skinning program. its a shell replacement. You can use windowblinds or visual styles with it. it replaces the windows explorer shell but still uses the windows o/s...only you will navigate differently (no more windows taskbar or start menu etc) similar to blackbox and derived from linux o/s.
well, what kind of problems are you having? First...make sure that LiteStep is installed to C: . When you download a new theme, save the theme to C/LiteStep/profiles/(here there should be a folder with your computer name)/themes (if it is a zipped theme, unzip it to this location) ...open LiteStep menu on the desktop, choose 'litestep'>'change themes'. if you dont see the new theme on the list then choose 'refresh list' . then choose the theme you want to install. you may get a box saying to download modules...download them. otherwise you should get a box saying do you want to revert to default theme. say NO. some themes may come as a .lsz file...if they do, simply 'open with...' litestep. (you may need to download litestep theme installer) LiteStep can be a little confusing at first (and frustrating) but its a nice shell once you learn to use it. Hope this helps!!
modules are just small programs within litestep. you dont need to worry about them really, b/c if a theme contains modules you DONT already have, it will usually download the proper ones for you when you install the theme. also, most themes are either .lsz, .zip, or .rar. the last two just unzip into your themes folder. .lsz just install with litestep.
