you want my opinion and thoughts on something i nor any member of this community (unless ofcourse they are a member of the ie7 dev. crew which i doubt) have no informed knowledge of, well, where should i begin ...
ie usage has dropped under 67% last time i checked, hope they can make up some ground with innovation as opposed to renovation.
full css2 support? dream on.... they said that they are going to extend css support but for compatibility reasons with existing sites (read: crappily coded, but IE-readable sites) they won't change the rendering engine completely, i believe...
i love firefox! but the are saying that they will fix security issues with IE 7 and it will be a lot faster aswell, also the additional tabbed browsing may just beat out firefox for me.
They better fix the png support... I know that it is a very highly requested feature to be fixed in IE and if it isn't fixed the number of pissed off web designers will atleast double.
Have you seen the bs css filter they try to get you to use as a solution? I admit it works for some purposes but it is nothing but a hassle, and if you are trying to apply a transparent png as a bg image with css then there is no way to fix that in IE.
i've been using Firefox right along and it is a bit snappier but... i gotta admit, the average user doesn't give a crap about CSS standards and whatnot. and how many non-retards fuck up their computer because they were using IE instead of Firefox ? also, IE gets points for being part of the OS. your favorites menu on the Start Panel & at the top of EVERY window you use... no need to start a browser, you probably already have one open! and you can download the MSN searchbar (which kinda sucks) and it'll add tabbed browsing to IE.
