okay, how many have read kundera's "the unbearable lightness of being"?
in that sentiment, i need a grounding. up to this time, i saw other admins speak for their sites, and frankly, i'm jealous. i do not feel i can honestly say i represent custo. the best i can do is always "here are my values, this is what i'll do"
to all other custo admins, gods, and operators: who are you? is it really just me, adam, and matrix as regulars? i havent spoken to lamplighter/revird in what seems like an eternity.
i need ground. i need to know "who is customize?". i need to know what statements i have the authority to make on this site, what decision i can make that will not get overturned, and what my role is.
i'm spending more a lot of time on this site, mostly ranking, and in the breaks either posting where to download litestep (http://lsdev.org) or reading what i have done to destroy the skinner scene this week. i do not get paid, and not that i am counting how many people said thank you (4 people, 5 thank yous) but i'm frankly not going to keep doing this if i do not get even the right to speak for the site.
to anyone who can answer any of these questions, please, thank you.

The following is a direct quote from what I said to miriku in an IM conversation a few moments ago... if you don't like it, well, that's you're right, but it's my right not to care what you think, if I choose to.
I don't always agree with what you say and do on custo, but I have started to realise that you have every right as any other admin to delete whatever you, personally, think doesn't belong, and I have no right to tell you what y ou should or shouldn't have done. as for the skinners who left, they'll be back, if only to talk more shit... the truth is, all the "greats" are now the "old farts" and it's time for the new, younger generation of skinners to take over.... the people who are leaving will leave the skinning community soon enough anyways.... I don't think the other admins apreciate what you do for the site, I know I haven't.... I actually caught myself the other day getting pissed because some skins were'nt rated... I thought "where the fuck is miri" and went on, ignoring them... if anyone doens't deserve to be an admin, it's probably me.... but I'm stickin around at least 'till someone completely strips my admin status and says fuck you chad, go away

this is why deskmod was so great, and why the original custo worked so well. A CLOSE INTERRELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE UNDISPUTED CREATORS/LEADERS OF THE SITE (gorman, gllen). where the hell are the site programmers? its like screaming at the dark. are they against miriku's decision, or do they support him? jesus. someone needs to give the site a backbone. and someone needs to let me manage my god damned uploads. i'm behind you miri. at least you have a voice in the community. there are a hell of a lot of admins here that arent saying shit about anything. at least you give some sort of a damn.
the admins are tied up with college, as I should be... but I make time for custo, and so do they, just behind the scenes.... not everything gets thrown into the public about the site, though everyone thinks so.

Miriku: It seems like you get a bad rap for being honest, which to me, is upsetting. I guess the average user doesn't know how much time goes into such a site as this, but wherever they got their information from, I'd like to sit them down and say "wake up.". I believe you do a great job, you've got a ton of work to finish up, not to mention having a bit of time for you.
Anyways, what I mean to say is, you do a great job here, and you get mad respect for that. If anything, you've kept this site alive with some great comments, online precense, and the ability to show how dedicated you are each and every day here at Custo.
matrix - thats just what i'm saying tho - there needs to be an obvious presence - do you know what i mean? at deskmod it always felt like you had a hand in you destiny so to speak. idunno. just my thoughts.
i'm not complaining about you or the admins who are active. i understand that we all have prior engagements that are more important - but something here or there.
atually, i to some xtent know whats going onm but its messy. Im just working, ralking to people and rating stuff, and the occasional misc stuff.
I guess everything is going ok, yet delayed. Pod is busy with life and finals, so the moderation is delayed. Revird is busy with work, will do admin board and manage uploads, etc later. Wraybling and lamlighter have been kidnapped by gllen. :)
