I know you guys out there have gotten this feeling before, where there is nothing to do on the internet anymore. Almost like youve seen it all. Thats why im asking if some of you could reccomend me some addicting freeware games or websites, apps etc. I used to be on the computer for like 4 hours at a time and now it down to a mere 45mins. Someone Help me....

not to be rude, but why are/were you on your computer for 4 hours a day at 16 yrs. old? there's a lot more productive stuff to do then playing crappy computer games. read a book, do some exercise, start up a hobby, or try to learn something new (a foreign language is a good place to start). people used to do all sorts of interesting stuff before the internet, and as far as i can tell, most of that stuff is still just as fun as it ever was.

I'm 22 and I spend atleast 4 hours a day on my computer. What does age have to do with it? For some people being on the computer is their hobby. It's mine anyway.

Heh, when I was 16, I spent a LOT more than four hours a day on the computer, especially during the summer. I'd guess it was probably closer to nine or ten at that point.

I spend more than my fair share of time of the internet, but openwound is right. If you have nothing left to do on the internet, try finding other things to do. Instead of aimlessly browsing the internet, go to the mall and browse some stores. At least you'll be active.

I was thinking about starting a server. But were are in tough times as far as money, dont get me wrong...were not poor, but the energy bill would skyrocker with a server or pc running all day. am pretty active though, its just that i live where there arent many oppertunities to be active. Were kind of in the middle of nowhere, and since i dont drive...Im screwed. Thanks for all the feedback guys, i really appreciate it. I can always count on Custo.

D4RKFANTASY here is a tip:

Software Developing

Make your own software.

C++ and Java are free and powerful.
e.g. Rainmeter is written in C++

Maybe your software will added to the customize app list someday.

i think i'd definitely have to go with openwound on this one. while it seems a lot of things are really productive that are accomplished by spending lotsa times on the internet, later on they seemed pretty pointless. i moved from 5 hours on the comp to now 30 minutes a day max, and man it seems like my life is so much more organized... like i actually keep track and schedule of things i do, ive met so many more ppl, im so much more in shape, and in just doing things that dont make my eyes and head hurt, i just naturally feel happier :D

Yeah, the problem is; what do you do when your friends aren't around? What the fuck do you do besides; reading, watchng movies, play an instrument, excersize, draw or paint, play video games, do homeworks, job, check your mail, listen to music, take a walk in the forest, take your bike for a ride, sunbath, swim, sleep, wank, eat, sleep a little more, clean your room, rearrange your furniture, wash your clothes, make something nice out of wood, call someone, tease your little sister, get a camera and shoot people or maybe flowers, climb a tree, buy some new clothes, take a haircut, go to the mall and find some neat stash to buy.

Uhm, ohno, no, no I'm a paradox. lol. There is alot of things to do hmm, but you just have to get your mind off the screen. What do you really earn by sitting there? what do you learn? could you learn and experience more by doing other stuff?

Question really is, do find interest in other things? Thats something you can search the internet for.

I agree with everyone who posted about spending less time on the pc and more time doing other more productive things for |YOURSELF| Its going to get to a point in everyones lives where your going to find yourself of more importance then the Internet and materialistic things. Last summer I probably went outside just to go to a freinds house to stay in their house. Now this summer and my entire soph year, I have been physicaly active dropped my weight, I am now extremely happy, and I could only find it through mental/physical developement of experiancing the real world. Games I cant play now, I love to do stuff outside, its wierd how negative i used to be towards doing anything that had to do with moving anything but my clicker finger. Sooner or later you will be looking back wondering why you spent your teenage years sitting inside...

Give it a think.

1) Regarding age: I'm 21 and I spend an average of 10 hours a day online. But then again, I'm a net. admin. and see #2

2) Regarding porn: I administer/regulate 3 porn sites and believe me, there IS such a thing as too much porn. Now when I look at it, it's just like looking at a car or a tree or something.

3) Regarding the free games/websites, try:

it was hard, if you're ever considering taking a break, don't think it's going to be easy.
...
just occupy yourself with something else, you can't stop being an addict, but you can change what you're addicted to.
...
that's it. you do know this thread comes up every six months right? same issue, different addicts.

you shouldn't spend a good chunk of your day glued to your monitor (if you can avoid it): heavy computer use has been linked to glaucoma (http://www.cbc.ca/story/science/national/2004/11/15/glaucoma

)

and here's an article regarding computer games (it's a bit dated, but i still think its message is relevant):
http://observer.guardian.co.uk/international/story/0,6903,53

you can use your computer for productive purposes (reading e-books, learning a foreign/programming language, or even digital art), but you seemed more interested in bullshit wastes of time (at least that's how i interpreted your question). if i came off as some sort of "smoky preacher" as merkurixx called me, well, tough shit. you're entitled to live your life as you desire, but if you did something productive, you'd have the potential to make some money.
