I was never really a fan of this depiction of Tux....it ruins his cool factor. Still, the splash screen itself is pretty cool.

I've never understood the need for this depiction of Tux myself. He could have been "Crystalized" in his orginal form (just gloss him up a bit).
I've seen better Crystal-like GNOME Splash screens on art.gnome.org with the traditional "foot" logo.
