I couldn't help it, i voted for the lemurs. But in actuality, I'd actually like to see more interviews and news. It seems like those only get updated once every month or so.

I'd like to see a more organized site with subcategories and such. A new ranking system aswell, current one is hard to understand, I think more of a 1-10 rank and only members who pass a certain level can vote. Check out www.wincustomize.com to see what I am talking about.

'category based threads', aka forums.

A combination of things, in whatever-comes-out-of-my-head-first order:

1. A tutorial, to help new users get started.
2. Real forums.
3. A search form that will actually let you search the entire site.
4. A donation button, because I don't want something I'll never use, but I want to contribute to Customize.org.
5. A more concise ranking system. From what I've heard, submissions are rated in terms of several criteria (originality, etc.), so why not show the users what the submission got for each criterion instead of lumping it all together?
6. An easier way to submit site skins. PHP, XHTML and CSS, anyone?

I agree with captaingarret on viewing past featured items, that would own. And also when you browse a section a system that consists of browsing wallpapers (if we are surfing the wallpaper section that is) from say 1/01/05 to 1/02/05, only the wallpapers submitted in that time, and see them ordered either in rank, downloads or the other regular options custo offers

I'd like to see the RANKING system thrown out. Having done it for a year, I know how much of a hassle it can be. You people sure do like because it gives you a grade from a "more professional perspective" but you sure hate it when that grade is bad.

Anyways, that, Evo getting released, a slightly more robust forum system(not like neowin or anything like that. just like 3-4 categories, small stuff like that.

Interviews, events, that and the like. Thinking about it makes me all giddy at what COULD be done.

I think the hipster's got the right idea.

It'd be nice to have a more robust forum, a new layout for the site, or something along those lines.

But, as it stands, within the site's current limitations, I think things like articles and interviews would do well to, you know, advance what we've got going here.

Custo's always held my interest because of the people that come here, however small the group is; things that focus on and draw from the community, even in purely intellectual fashion - I think that's a good direction.

How bout a skinning resources section, for more than just tutorials. Kinda like Wincustomize and DA. Minus DA's abundance of shitty stock photos that show fat chicks slicing their wrists.

anyway,
1. i personally like the rating system as is,
2. i didnt even know there was a tutorials section
3. interviews would be a nice treat
4. featured artist section
5. the ability to update your submissions
6. the ability to view all featured submissions (past, present)
7. i agree with advent on a donation button... i'd use it
8. i disagree with advent on the more concise ranking system... that form of ranking system would make a ton more work for the staff... and really if an artist cant figure it out past that point, well...


and just as a sidenote customize.org has always been held in high regards for its staff, member base, and featuires such as the rating system so dont get me wrong... i still like it here.
