I will go with Lord of the Rings, with the original Star Wars as a close second. I like the idea of one big story split up into 3 parts, rather than 3 seperate stories that kinda go together.

i've have to admit that lord of the ring is a nice trilogy...but matrix has a better plot, it rules!!

when i first saw the matrix trilogy i was like !?...but then it all came together and i loved it!

...since when does matrix have a better plot than lotr? matrix is a highly recycled plot that they didn't do too great of a job on in relation to doing anything really interesting or "new" with.

Ahhh hitchhiker's guide SHOULD be up there. Thankfully they didn't come out with another 2 (or 4 to stick with Douglas Adams humor) movies to be confused with the 5 part trilogy that is genius.

the four alien movies are about as much trilogy as the rocky movies. however, maybe terminator 1-2-3 and should have been an option (and maybe the cube movies as well)?
