The seats on planes are way too small for me. I'm 6'4". There is no leg room, the seats are too narrow and the headrests too low. I like flying, I hate plane seats!

worst - Greyhound buses, not really uncomfortable, it just takes 4 times longer than driving yourself.


best - You can get to the other sire of the world in 16 hours non-stop (New York to Bangkok) for about 1000 bucks. I think that's pretty incredible.

best for short - Biking, it's fun, keeps you in shape, is good for the enviroment, etc. Plus riding a Bianchi, Cannondale, etc is like riding a piece of art. If you live within 5 miles of work or school and don't bike, you're missing out.

I would say walking, if only because of the relative lack of speed. However, you're speaking to a spoiled suburbanite who has never ridden public transportation with the exception of school buses. Nor has he ever flown. So I'm far from a sage source of opinion.

trains arent bad..its those damn buses

I travel to work by a bike as long as I can before the winter. 18 kilometers every day. When the gasoline prices are this high, I can't afford buing/driving a car. Besides, cycling keeps me fit and it's nearly as fast as a car in the city.

I would say that atm car is the most suckiest form of transportation. Gasoline prices are at 1,7 € and rising (I think it's about the same in dollars..) Still everybody drives their cars alone ! That's what bothers me the most, but what can you do?

im with colossus on biking, i live in boulder, a place with probably the most and best bike trails of any town in america.

you can go anywhere on a bike, jump over curbs way easier than on a skate, and you go much faster. i don't know about cannondale bikes, i rock a GT, i want to get a GT moto so i can rock some bigger jumps with out breaking my bike.

i hate flying. living around the downtown area of Toronto, i walk and bike a lot. i find both enjoyable and relaxing.

There's nothing like a good walk.

buses suck, i took one to school for 3 years until i got my first car. i'd have to say best is plane, you relax, don't have to pilot it yourself, get to eat food. watch a movie, listen to music, read a book, etc. its great. plus if you get bored of all of that, you can always look out the windows, watch the clouds go by, and ponder the meaning of life.

I think School buses are so lame.

I walk pretty much everywhere. If it's too far to walk or there's bad weather, public transport (bus and train). I try to avoid the bus at all costs (too many germs and it's terribly expensive nowadays).

Normal busses are fine: Crazies to look at, interesting people to look at lame looking people to look at etc

I have travelled across North America by all, Train, Plane, Automobile and bus...
I spent 5 1/2 days on a grayhound from Vancouver BC to New Brunswick, when I got to Montreal I almost went on a rampage...
Train is the BEST way to see the Country and the most relaxing. Plane of course is the "safest" quickest.. but they show those awful movies with Ben Afleck and Jennifer lopez!

My car got stolen a few months ago, so now I ride public transportation (bus, trolley, bus) to get to school. I'm actually glad I don't drive because gas is just way too expensive these days ($3.09/gal for regular). Now, for $45 a month, I go everywhere I have to.

I've never been on a plane or train. And yes, the worst form of transportation is the dreaded twinkie
with wheels.

i hate school transportation because you dont even get to be comfortable. public transportation is just fine, not to mention cheap. im cool with everything except that damnable school bus.

I actually use all modes of transport in the list save for the school bus, and a few not included.

I hate driving, but I much prefer it to public transportation of any kind.

School bus gets my vote. Having skipped a grade, I was the only senior in high school who actually had to ride the bus for two weeks. It was traumatic.

I love to fly. It's the safest way to travel, really. Yeah, the seats are too small for me as well, but I usually manage to conquer a solution to that. Same goes for buses, only they ac- and deccellerate too often for my taste. Walking goes slow, though it's nice to walk with friends etc. I use the bike real often, but that's because I have little money and I often don't need to go very far. Cycling is good for you, though it ruins your hair. In winter it's too damned cold to cycle, and in summer you get all kinds of bugs in your mouth and eyes and shit. :P.
