I need a new video card but I'll probably end up just building a whole new system. Vista is right around the corner.

Good timing for the poll. My new upgrades just arrived today, from NewEgg.

-Asus A8N SLI Premium
-AMD 64 4400+ X2
-GeForce 7800GT

hdd should have been an option, so i guess my vote is for "other".

My current system is going to last me until at least the end of this year, the only thing I'm needing right now is a new hard drive.

I have no idea. I put other, since if I had to wager on it, my money'd be on another hard drive.

to Advent:

man, don't upgrade your powerbook, keep it. if you do any kind of video editing etc, the macbook is not for you. there are several problems rising up already, such as many programs, including apples own final cut/final cut pro, does NOT run on the macbooks. major bug that apple doesn't want people to know about, as well as its terrible battery life and crashing on other mac programs. also, I cant say anything yet, but theres something big coming from apple. beyond the powerbook series. stay tuned, and save your money, Advent.

Next upgrade will be going from my P4 3.2 GHz to a AMD Athlon 64 FX which will be Tuesday.

Also going to be upgrading from 1 GB DDR SDRAM to 2 GB DDR SDRAM in a couple days after I recieve my Gateway CX200X.

I just got a 250GB ext hd, new logitech keyboard and mouse. As well as a new 19" flat panel Samsung. So I dont think I will be spending anymore money on computer stuff for a long time.

Advent: not saying that it isn't better than a powerbook, but I would never steep so low to buy something that is called a "macbook pro". As if macbook were not already the ultimate ugly name of all time, they had to go and add pro. They should have stuck with powerbook.

Thanks for the concern, but I didn't mean I was going to upgrade upon release. I'm going to wait until most of the issues that come with moving to the x86 platform are stamped out. As for battery life, I'll definitely be weighing that when I make a purchasing decision.
