Artist's Note
based on Loki_TH's eXtreame app launcher, which is based on "GP - Gudri Pradzia - Smart Start"
His original readme is included for customizing the commands.
I wanted a no-icon desktop for my tablet pc, plus I like the TNG. I could not find a rainmeter skin with the LCARS, so I made my own.
I also adapted a desktop pattern from another app skin by getting rid of the starship in the middle and cleaning it up a bit - it's a nice fit with the launcher I think.
Improvements may come but I'm not "professional", just made this for myself and thought I'd share. Feel free to mod and play.
oh yeah, there's an LCARS font included too.
Licensing: the artist has specified that ports and mods are allowed.

I downloaded it.
The fonts were initially too big, no big deal, and I would have to rewrite the command chains for Vista.
Seeing this though, it makes me want to take the desktop and write an entire skin based on it, not just an app launcher.
I already took the Xtreame App launcher and rewrote it for Vista anyways, and expanded it to include the 18 programs I use most, and with that experience I could MAYBE take this and write it into a whole big thing.
It would be a fun project and make any computer completely awesome.
It's an awesome concept and it can go far.

Many of these out there like you said I revamped one I had been playing with for win7 accept this time I applied it to an active desktop that includes a live camera area as well as "quick menu" next to the launch menu. The strings take a different more efficient path in 7. The registry's key structure differs and executes much faster. Computers wait state is higher. Sort of like a hole shot off the line when executing a program. Memory is already allocated to execute and fill. Rexecuting is even faster since the system "learns" how it last was. This intuativeness is kernel controlled which I put a hot slider for the amount of active caching for program handles. Like most things though, I get tired of stuff quickly and before completing it I will probably come up with a better version.
