8 years for a new release. awesome. i'm agreeing with adamtt ... who cares. Update: your freaking advertising that crap here ... this is a skinning website...not free advertisements for a shitty OS.

I think it is a rather nice screenshot. Everything from the tranparent popup menu. The vector drawn asteroids clone and those cute game icons are nicely done. If BeOS would have had similar funtionality and similar look (instead of just the technical benefits like efficiency and multitaking) alot more people would have checked BeOS out and Be Inc would probably have been in business today.
A very cool demonstration of what can be done with early nineties AmigaOS releases.

Nice birdie patterns, nice button gadgets but try de aqua settings for your visual prefs, the gadgets look so much better :) also replace your standard disk icons for your system partions with the glow icon collection for example. Will be uploading my own workbench (in windows language 'desktop':) shot's tonight when i am at home. overal a nice wb rkenshin: amiga OS roxXx, an it is NOT a shitty OS it outpreforms your windows even on a 25 Mhz proc (68040) and the multitasking, flexibility and user friendlynes of the Amiga OS is far beyond windows. try to play 4 mp3's,burn a cd on 12 speed, play mpeg in window, browse the internet, format 1 of your partitions and print a high resolution picture all at same time on your pc. the catch is the Amiga does NOT slow down at ALL, your pc will crash ,run very slow or won't do it all. and this is achived with a 68060/50 mhz proc and a g2 604e 233 Mhz cpu (1993 and 1995 )working at the same time independant of each other, oh a pc can't do that :P please before you say something know what you are talking about. Amiga OS maybe outdated on a lot in terms of app's, but the basis of the OS is still very very good. it will wack windows around like nothing else, it boots in 5.5 sec's in a really full configuration. It is the way a modern OS should be, fast, elegant, friendly, simple, stable.

rkenskin/AdamTT well blame Gateway for that. Only recently have some members of the Amiga community been able to raise enough money to buy AmigaOS from Gateway. It has cost them millions! It is currently under development by the same but somewhat larger team who did AmigaOS 3.9 which was released a over a year ago as well. You can check out AmigaOS 3.9 through the emulatior Amithlon http://www.amithlon.com/ on your x86 PC as well. This version takes longer to develop since it will be a fully PPC based OS unlike the previous 68k/PPC hybrid.
