update: so i tried to replace the shell32.dll and whatnot and my damn computer wouldn't start back up. i got it up and running again, but is there some secret i don't know about?

Question: How did you make the toolbar smaller?
Answer: Its the theme that does it.
Question: How did you make the video visible?
Answer: Turn off Hardware acceleration in WMP.
Question: Is there some secret i don't know about?
Answer: First off save the shell you modified into a folder.
1. Boot into safe mode with command prompt only.
2. Delete shell32.dll in the "dllcache" folder under the "system32" folder.
3. Rename your "shell32.dll" (its in the "system32" folder under windows or winnt) to a different extension so that windows wont recognise it like: "shell32.dll.old".
4: Then copy your modifed shell32.dll to the "system32" folder under windows or winnt folder.
5. Reboot and thank me here :P
