Just a little tribute to Marvilla (she's an admin at gfxoasis.com, and has a great site, called Iconica, at: http://www.marvilla.us
She made the wall, called "Sun", modified a bit by me.
Also, showing off the current state of KDE Linux, KDE 3.4, with the Xorg graphics server standard, light shadowing enabled. Translucency and shadows are now a standard part of KDE, and can be tweaked, and turned on/off. Not perfect quite yet, but very near to it. KDE is growing/developing at an amazing rate. Kde 3.3 was released around Fall 2003, and we already have 3.4 stable release as of mid-March. KDE 4 will be HUGE, apparently. So, stay tuned.
So, my current desktop.
Wallpaper: Sun, by Marvilla Icons: Nuvola, by David Vignoni, at www.iconking.com A bit of custo by me, including the taskbar skin, added applets, virtual desktop pager (kickerpager), etc.
Nothing innovative by me, but just a little taste of what KDE 3.4 has to offer at the moment eyecandy-wise, and an excuse to use Marvilla's wall.
Thanks! BUT . . . you don't need alot of courage. From the time I installed Linux from the CDs (downloadable ISOs from the web) to the time was productive with it - e-mailing, writing a letter, not much more than 20 minutes had passed. Hardware detection on most desktop-geared distros is automatic. Not much more tweaking involved than what you find in XP. My desktop in the shot took no time at all to customize, hehe. You can do it from the control panels, mostly, once you've downloaded the skins you want, etc.
Wow! I'm over a year late on this LTD :-D Thanks for this! I found this post/screenshot on an unrelated Google search I was doing and glad I followed the link.

Anyway, glad you like it!
