switched to Ubuntu Hoary about a month ago (it's great :)) and switched back to GNOME as well (but maybe not for too long). here are the specs: icons: Somatic, by David Lanham (www.dlanham.com) (okae, i promise next time i'll use another set :P) wallpaper: Phosphoric Acid, by David Lanham too. Beep Media Player: Green with Envy, author: the readme says: "Original Author: Titan Creations (TM) Powered by Imagination (C)". got it from Gnome-Look.org (www.gnome-look.org) GTK & Metacity: Gnursid, by Jean-Paul Bizet (http://jp.bizet.free.fr/themes/). got it from Gnome-Look.org too. Firefox: Apollo, by Aaron Spuler (http://www.mozthemes.tk) running xcompmgr to allow windows to be transparent and gDesklets with the translucency option, which makes the StaterBar look very nifty but has its inconveniences (e.g. the logout dialog won't show if xcompmgr is running) showing also the FTB displays by Kevin Kane, which I got from gdesklets.gnomedesktop.org
that's all, i think (if i'm missing something please let me know). comments and constructive criticism apreciated as always, although constructive criticism may not be considered 'cos i think i'm switching to XFCE and changing my desktop soon. enjoy!
wow... thanks for your love ppl ;). you know, that's why I like David Lanham's work so much, that cartoony look is just great. sbbath: you should try Xfce, i think it's lighter than gnome and it's still very cool. grab it from www.xfce.org or check here to install it via apt-get if you are using Debian or one of its brothers. thanks again guys ;)
