The whole setup is based on http://iso50.com/iso50.html
Amp and clock are done with samurize and the quicklauncher at the bottom is launchy. the hardest part of this was the exlplorer. Due to the limitations of normal visual styles you can't have such cool big wooden borders like on the site. So I had to use another way to have those borders. The trick is I'm using windowpaper to change the background of the explorer windows. The only problem is that you can not resize the windows since windowpaper only tiles the image I use for the folder background and there's no such thing like sizing margins. Well, of course you can resize the windows but it then doesn't look that good anymore. The artwork integrated in the wallpaper is by Scott Hansen (just check out the site).

kareem (kinetx) was working on something very similar. i think was giving it a go in windowblinds, because of the border issues. it's cool, and great to see experimenting. very sexy, usability aside.

Looks = great!
Usability = poor
I have totally switched my stance on desktop customizing in recent weeks. I no longer believe it is about eye candy...I am starting to love the functional features that some setup can offer me.

it's a pretty fun setup to work on. if you can be bothered, i suggest you give windowsblinds a try, because you can totally pull it off with that. i finished the frame and then stopped caring about it.

First of all I'd like to thank you all for the comments and stuff. About the usability: I really don't know why you think it's that unusable.. I know, the borders are fake but still you can move the windows easily and resizing them is also no problem. And the folders without the custom background also don't look that bad...
And btw. I installed windowblinds a couple of minutes ago ;)
@Tide: I won't release it ;)
@finch: The font in the samurize winamp control is not messed up, it's just 1pt smaller (which makes it look more like on ze webiste, cause 7pt was way too big for it)
