theres 2 ways to get rid of the desktop text (thats I know of)
1. Right click on your desktop and choose
arrange icons byshow desktop items[check off] But then you wont have any icons on your desktop.
2. Right click on your desktop and choose
arrange icons by lock webitems on desktop But that *sometimes* distorts your desktop wallpaper. ometimes not, I don know why...

Install Tweak UI 1.33 there's a setting you can use to remove it.
