kids, they dont come more trendy than this. seriously. Its very trendy, making it lose some score, and even though there are some simple, but cool effects, it lacks depth and detail, i especially miss something on the sidebars

it doesnt look swirly to me. there are practically daggers in the background. besides, the sine curves look a little... corny. if more things were going on in the background (not more of the same) and the swirls didnt look like something from my math class, then the soothing colors would not be the only thing giving you points.
