while the rendering is a cool trick, it's sort of more of a "cool rendering trick" than a composed image. also, the text really, really, really doesnt work.

.take it easy, i like it...it's a fairly simple render actually, but tasteful and with nice colors. The text imo in unobtrusive. I use max by the way, and this no big scene, setup wise.

i like it too. the colors are great. only thing that bugs me is the bright white part in the upper left, it takes your eye away from the orbs (which i think should be the focus of this piece)

beautiful 3d work. AMAZING reflections/refractions/transparency/vol umetric lightning. I think one of the best examples of all 4 of those wonderful elements I've seen in a while. Yes text doesn't work, perhaps if you put it on the green background you'd get more contrast out of it. But overall it's cool. Did this in max? Cool, you can get similar results in Bryce and trueSpace. But I think some of the lighting effects wouldn't be possible. Or look as good anyway. Things like the streak effects and such. Anyway, long enough, cool image! Inspiring too, think I may have to fool around with refraction

the render is good, but I wouldn't use this as a wallpaper.

man you guys are AWEFUL at rating things (imho). this http://www.customize.org/details/11563 gets a 78 and this beautiful render gets a 58? ug... i agree with puidicio, its a little too bright for a wallpaper - contrast with icons is crappy. also, get rid of the text, dont sell your soul...
