you stole a bunch of pictures and pasted them on top of each other. while "poignant" it's not too usable as a wallpaper

its bland, but it has potential.. try adding additional objects to the overall background so that it adds a bit more umpf..

It's okay to letterbox, but you have to put some color and maybe a texture in the outer bands. The pictures in the middle just seem to be there so you can have a lot of stuff, none of it seems to fit together
