The render is down right gorgeous. Very realistic. I'm not too crazy about the black bars.

UH!! Beautiful!! But I don't like the black parts either, it sofocate the image... but is the only color that seems to work (white definitively not). it looks so real!!

Very good render. The only complaint is the back edge of the island looks a little rushed and not as finished as the rest of it. Other than that and the black letterboxing it is downright gorgeous.

I would say, and not speaking for artist, but maybe the black bars are like a wide screen effect? I like it.

i thought the bars looked somewhat cool, gives it kindof a movie intro fly-over typa feel. Pretty cool render too.

Thanks all. I didn't realize I'd posted the image with uneven borders. There are better versions at my website: http://www.adamdorman.com/wallpapers2.ph
p .I did like the narrow aspect of the image, which was just at first a Terragen exercise.
Terragen is a really great landscape generator. There are however 2 problems with it.
It doesn't render to the horizon and it doesn't reflect clouds on water. The horizon clip is the reason the rear of the island doesn't look as good as the front. The majority of post production was spent creating a blend to the top of the image that didn't look too out of place.
I am generally pleased with the piece and am happy others appreciate it too.
By the way, get Terragen. It’s free!
