Artist's Note
After seeing the Terminator II DVD again (and again…the best work of James Cameron is my opinion), I’ll wanted to created something liquid. Yep, I was really inspired by the moving chrome parts of the T-1000. This is the result after two hours of fighting the polygons. My computer almost died of low memory!!
It was harder than I thought to create the water surface and the drops. Creating CG liquids is not an easy task! I’ll can do better but don’t have the time for refining this fun job!!!
All the way…I’m happy with the result. Enjoy my artwork…and keep it real!

This is some sweet rendering. However, i think for a better wallpaper, you should keep the bottom ripples but get rid of the suspended drop. Just IMO.

Another great addition, the drop is pure sex, love the reflection. There is a tad need for color adjustment around the sphere drop edge, from cyan to a light baby blue.

It's an awesome render, but that's all...needs a bit of letterboxing or something to make it into a good wall. Oh, and colors.

I know exactly where you're coming from. I decided to try modelling some liquids recently and found that my favourite 3D package (cinema 4d) basically can't. So it's over to 3D Studio. Anyway ... nice work here, although I'd be inclined to tweak the top droplet so that it separates out from its little satellite bits :)

Dokt you may actually model some liquid stuff in c4d with metaballs , but of course it would suck compared to this :)
