nice. i'm a fan of the splat style. way to keep it clean and simple. i agree with dmonix : it's much better free from text.

and this is now my new wallpaper. damn that's sweet. I'm not sure I agree with the others about the gradient, but they might be right. try it out with more subtle gradients and then try some flat colors, I love the splat though, it looks great. the only thing I have ateeny fuss about may be the bottom of it... maybe the bigger blob parts should be highlighted just a teeny bit more than they are on the bottom? I dunno :P

The effect's kind of ruined by the fact that it has a drop shadow. As it stands, the shadow makes it look like your splat hit the surface and then levitated an inch.

Great effect on subject, but gradient looks choppy. Make the blob bigger and more complex, maybe even part of it over the edge, smooth out the background, and resubmit it. Looks überslick on an Apple PowerBook G4.

the splat doesnt look really realistic somehow. i dont really know that much about how to fix it, but thats just my opinion :D cool idea anyhow

Looks good. Very nice look with the splat, loots a lot like Mercury, accept you need to put more small particles between the chunks, mercury breaks up like that ususally.. anyway.. yeah, nice wall.

I really like the texture inside of the actual splat. I'd rather see more of that than the simple gradient bg.
