Artist's Note
'a steed's view'
Based on 'Horse in a Landscape' by Franz Marc, 1910 (view here: http://cgfa.sunsite.dk/marc/p-marc21.htm)
My previous wall submissions were actually just for practise - this is the picture I wanted to create for over a year now. It started with my art class at school back in 2001 when I did a modernized version of Marc's picture with watercolors (http://www.freundt.org/01.jpg). But it didn't really become what I had in mind. This one is much closer to what I wanted to create.
You might be wondering about the choice of color, but that's what it's supposed to be like - anyhow, I included 3 additional recolored versions. Watch these 3 here: http://www.freundt.org/florian/index.htm
available at 1280x1024 in 4 different colors

I like this style a lot. As art this is really cool, but as a wallpaper the concept of a horse wouldn't have as many people wanting to use it. But I think its great. I especially like the other colors.

i agree about the ass. BUT. hermik. where are you from? Franz Mark did some really impressive works. you know der blaue reiter? he was a member of a art-group near by here. i visited the museum in murnau for two times. i like his art. and i like what you´ve done with it. the blue and gold recolored versions are interesting. your site is great! so simple. so sexy. really i like everything you´ve done including this work. and now .. the sentence of the year. it´s extreme good as an artwork but not as a wall. ;) but i´ll keep it. do you have more of your hand-drawn arts on-line or can you e-mail them to me? i want to see what others are doing. thank you.

WOW!! the first think I thought when I saw this, was "hey, this reminds me to Franz Marc", so I guess, you achieved what you wanted =). I really love it, I guess, because Kandinsky is one of my favorites artist (and biggest influence right now) so I'm very familiar with Marc, and of course Der Blaue Reiter. Ironically I see this more as a wallpaper than an art piece, althout I wouldn't mind to have a huge print of this on one of my studio walls (wait, I don't have walls there, is all windows) it would be in my room then; what I mean with this is that is a beautiful piece, may not be for everybody, but when you think in terms of usability, you have room for icons, winamp, samurize or whatever you want, AND is very pleasant image. you made my day with this one, honestly. So is 90 for such a good wall (because it has a "Good Art" signature all over it), and the other 10 is becuase Is totally awesome
