Hm I like the style but I don't like the bg color.. maybe a nice beige would do it?

monochromatic walls like this are super-easy to recolor: just open it in PS, select the whole image, open the Hue/Saturation tool, drag the sliders around until you have a color you like, and hit OK. Voila, a new color. that being said, this is a nice work, tho it suffers a bit from Japanese Flag Disease (compositions with the only focus point being dead center are a tad boring)
