ah, my first render born-out-of-boredom in Shanghai still got a week before my roomies arrive, maybe I'm gonna render something else after this
I was looking for a tutorial on how to make an ice shader/material with vray then experimented a bit with the optimize modifier in modeling the crystal and then yadda-yadda-another-boring-waiting-for-the-render-to-finish-phase (watched dvd while I wait) surprisingly fast render tho, since there's no surface calculation with only reflection/refraction material the render came out a bit raw and dull, so post-op in photoshop the purple & pink was mostly photoshop (again, original render was a bit dull)
Although its a bit simple, I kinda like how this turns out was gonna post this in abstract, but it's not abstrackie enough, misc object it is I think Amethyst is my birth-stone or something, I forgot
anyway, enjoy :)
UPDATE: turns out my birthstone isn't amethyst it's a ruby :P lol, oh well
Well done mate. Not wanting to be a pain in your back, but amethyst naturally forms in smaller crystals. Other then that, it's very shiny and polished :).
PS: the notes was copied from my DA sub, so a few things won't make sense :P yes I am lazy, yes I still got a lot of unpacking to do
