I like the ratings idea, it's novel. The skin itself leaves much to be desired.

Sorry, but it does not look like you put much effort into this. That whole star idea has to go, but even without that this just isn't up to par. Ouch - - - you do not do Media player justice AT ALL with this submission. Sorry, but it needs serious reworking. The "simplicity" idea flies, certainly, but not this way . . . .

Fair enough, gjuggler. Yes, I did try it out, and the effects are nice, I suppose. The whole look, however, takes away from whatever effects you've got going. I understand this is your first Mediaplayer skin, and I am impressed that you were able to pull off the effects and such, but it still doesn't stack up . Hey, no problem, though, just keep at it, improve it if you like and resubmit it. Don't let these comments stop you from being creative!! Who knows, maybe I don't refelct majority opinion here - wait for more ratings and more advice. First piece of advice: perhaps don't make the black so bold, make it thinner, such as the border and numbers. The yellow stars present a definite matching problem, though . . . you'll need to find a workaround to that, IMHO . . . anyway, keep at it :-))

Um..... IMHO is not Spanish. In "internet lingo" it means "In My Humble Opinion." It's okay, up until recently I had no idea what that meant either . . .

Es un theme muy simple, sin nada del otro mundo, parece un reproductor de windows 3.11, osea, mejoralo, porque es realmente negativo.
que esto no te detenga, segui creando, hasta poder hacer cosas realmente buenas. No te ofendas por mi review.

I like it a lot. I know mostly the ratings are useless, but actually it is exactly what I need right now..

As to general comments:
I reallt like the effects you included, especially fading.

Suggestions would inclue a smaller version (like a one line version) that you fit over the title bar of maximized windows.. but that's maybe only me ... :-)

I never thought to find a so simple skin for WM and would have rated it 90 if it has not used transparency.

On the other hand : Good job Guy !

At first I was a bit put off by the stark black and white approach of this skin, but it is my favorite of many simple, small skins. I use WMP at work as a designer, so I don't need my player competing with the other imagery on the screen. So I love the simplicity and the transparency. The volume and track motion indicators are very clever.

I also have a healthy audio collection, so I've been looking for a small skin that let me do ratings without switching to full mode or right clicking.

One fix would make this really excellent. Your Previous Track button doesn't work right---goes to Next Track.

Good luck with your future skins. Keep designing to fulfill needs, not egos. There are plenty of 3D, gaudy, overdone skins out there.

I'm new, but I thought this was one of the coolest skins here. I like simple things, and most of the others seems gaudy. I'm not into 3D crazy alien graphics or crazy colors so this suits me great! Good work, and thanks!

HELLO! the whole 'start thing' is what makes it so good!
i really like the fact that it's so simplefied but (there's always a 'but') there are a couple of things you might need to work on
the button are kinda sucky (sowwy) and it would help a great deal if you could do something with the stars.. make them smaller..something something.. i'm not sure what ^^*

but all in all. it's a great free skin so no nagging please!
