it's been a while since I've uploaded anything here, mostly because of the expectations here. Anyways, I don't know what I was thinking when I came up with this skin, just that it turned out alright in the end. I obviously designed it to look like a standard Windows 98 app (for a retro feel). It has a Playlist, Vis, and has a mini mode...

Nostalgia is good for certain things but not necessarily when it comes to old windows gui skins.
The whole idea of the word skin is to create something other than the norm.. so many people still use win9x/me/2000 as well as the people that have moved on to xp and higher or other operating systems, the last thing they want to be reminded of when they fire up a prog is how drab and boring the old windows gui is.
C'mon reeses show us the good stuff you've been working on all that time you've been away man.

Hi reeses - I liked the way you managed without the need for a separate js file, neat!
I think a good retro look by using an old windows style is damn near impossible!! (hence Max's comments)
Why not start from fresh with a new style - try using a basic geometry, but avoid squares for a while, as I think square skins need edge detailing / texture / gradient to look good. Anyway, ppl tend to like swooshy curves.
I'm sure there's a really cool skin in there, just screaming to get out!!

Forgot something. I got some of the grapohics from the standard Windows CD Player. I'm now working on a few major updates for some of my previous skins, as I am having trouble getting inspired (this skin...) I'm having trouble coming up with concepts and making good graphics, that's where my problem lies...
