Artist's Note

Second release of my Windows XP port of In The Dark. There are bound to be a few little issues, so let me know if you find one!

Fixed: Tray Icons missing.

It's such a promising theme in the Dark kingdom, I wonder if this can combine the mystery of darkness with the usability of contrast and the ease of eyes.
Frankly, I love dark themes thanks to its economy in electricity.
Anyway, I'll try this one, thanks for your upload.

i've tried this theme for 1 day all and have some thoughts about it.
Pros: Excellent contrast, Quite ease for eyes, Less power consumption
Cons: Too large taskbar and big icons on it, Blurred or disappeared dark fonts on several sites and right search bar in Firefox
Hope RealityRipple recognizes them as real cons and take actions, whatever, I'd like to give my respected thanks for your effort.

Sorry, there's 1 more thing I forgot that the Start menu Symbol, it's such a lime and ugly one, indeed, I think you'd better replace it with something else.

Updated versions can be found at http://realityripple.com/software/other/ (bottom of the screen). Once I figure out how to edit my submission I'll update it on here too. I fixed the taskbar problem, and I'm happy with the size now (it really did bug me, too). As for the websites and browsers and all that, it's the risk of making a theme with white text/black backgrounds. I'm afraid there's nothing I can do about that except tell you to make use of the userChrome document.

I am visually disabled and I was getting bored with using the Microsoft high contrast black accessibility option so thank you very much this great theme. Shame about Windows Explorer 7 tabs not been customisable, so I guess I need to learn how to use userChrome document.
Where do you suggest that I'll learn how to use it and also how to create my own .msstyles for Windows XP and Vista? I know it sounds such a noob question but can I use Photoshop CS3 or is there another programming you guys use?

Any help appreciated :-)

The readme file says what to do...

In order to use Non-Microsoft themes for Windows XP,
you must patch your system using UXTheme Multipatcher.
http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-E
nhancements/UXTheme-MultiPatcher.shtml

Once patched, copy InTheDark.msstyles to
C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes\InTheDark\ and
ShellStyle.dll to C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes\Shell\Normal
\Color
Then go to Display Properties (right click the desktop and hit properties),
go to Appearance, and select InTheDark under Windows and buttons.
